EngSoc is solely a social network for like minded people. We do not endorse any political organisation or activity

For some reason I chose to be a student Politician. Some would call this madness.

Madness? THIS IS UTS!!!! *kicks Persian down hole*

Seriously, here is my candidate statement for the UTS Council:

I am an active member of the UTS community. I have previously been part of the Faculty Engineering Board, Engineering O-Camp organising committee and the Executive Board of the Engineering Society. I wish to bring this wealth of practical experience to the UTS Council. I volunteered my time without the motives of career-progression or recompense. I did it because I saw that no-one else would and losing these things would make UTS poorer.

I have no agenda or mandate. I believe in judging ideas on their merit and not on which faction or ideology it arose from. I will endeavour to use my position to ensure that UTS remains a place where practicality, quality and industry-focused learning and research are our fundamental goals. If I win, join me in the Glasshouse to celebrate. If I lose, join me in the Glasshouse to celebrate how I avoided becoming a student politician.

And here is my statement for UTS Union Board:

I am a 4th Year Engineering student who actively participates in the UTS social scene. I have been organising social events, helping in the operation of the Engineering Society (the largest social club), and aiding the UTS Union for every single one of those years. There is no motive or desire for recompense for my work; I do it because I enjoy the responsibility and the friendships that can be made.

I have no agenda or mandate. I believe in judging ideas on their merit and not on which faction or ideology it arose from. I believe that the people we meet at Uni parties and the networks we gain from sporting event are an integral part to the whole University experience. If I win, join me in the Glasshouse to celebrate victory. If I lose, join me in the Glasshouse to celebrate how I avoided becoming a student politician.

So vote for me!
