Welcome to ye all! The new members and those who are old, wizened and faithful!

The beer and prawn night rocked off last night! With over 60 people buying tickets and piling in to get a piece of the 25kg prawn action! The line to enter went all the way down the stairs at some point, and once the food was out it was going out the door and into people's stomachs.

Orientation Camp week

You are invited to attend the UTS Engineering Alumni event "Reconnect 2008".
The event will be an opportunity for our existing member base to reconnect with UTS and their peers, as well as for current students to network with Alumni.

This will be the fourth celebration hosted by the Engineering Alumni Network and we hope you and your can attend to help us celebrate the achievements of the 2008 Spring engineering graduates.

The Engineering executive committee would like to advise all members of the 2008 Annual General meeting. We have rescheduled this meeting from the original advised date.

Campus Heats of the Public Speaking Competition are held at five Universities, namely, UNSW, USYD, UTS, UWS, UOW, as part of Young Engineers Australia, Sydney Division, Program. The competition is open to Student Members only and prizes for each Campus of 1st, 2nd and 3rd ($150, $100, $50) are offered.

Once again its time to get ready for an action packed day with the clubs stalls coming out and the Amazing race once again. Grab a few mate's and get ready to go into an all out battle to the finish line! Last amazing race we had activities such as drinking a mystery green sludge from the bar, obtaining a photo with Tom O'Sullivan and going through the glasshouse bin looking for something recyclable (we still aren't sure that's what we were supposed to do).

The Olympics will be shown in the Glasshouse bar.
We want you to be involved! Each lunch time teams will play off against each other in the Glasshouse Bar Olympics to win prizes and get points for their team. The winner will receive a $250 bar tab.

Games include eating comps/table tennis/bobbing for apples/races etc. Max 10 per team - 2 - 4 people per lunch time required to rep teams, also prizes for best dressed

Get your team/s together - tables of up to 8 - the more brains the better.
Winner gets a $500 grant, 2nd $250, 3rd $100 and the best dressed team $250

Get ready to glam up for this years Engineering Ball!

This is going to be the biggest and best event of the year! The exec have been sworn to secrecy over the theme this year, which promises to appeal to all. Look out for teaser posters appearing soon around uni, and start planning your look.

Come in formal dress. This will be a formal sit down dinner, with bar, dance floor and DJ. After party will be in the loft.

• Non-Members: $20

In conjunction with clubs such as Exposure, Sci vs. Sci and Salad Bowl, Engsoc is bringing you a cocktail spectacular! The Chicago Red/Black cocktail night is on Friday the 16th May, 7:00pm @ The Glasshouse.
All for just a CHEAP $10 members price!!!
It's $20 for non-members - or they could just join a club as they buy a ticket and SAVE! With a Chicago Red/Black theme this is the opportunity for you to grab your mates, dress to impress and chill in the glasshouse sipping seductively from a frosted glass.
This semi-formal event boasts cheap cocktails and a great chance to mingle (especially if your single!) Pre-event entertainment starts from 4pm with events such as trivia, and beer bingo to tide you over until the start.
Girls this is one of those rare opportunities for you to dress up, and guys it's semi-formal so a collared shirt and enclosed shoes are required - unless your coming as a flapper! It's a great opportunity to look your greatest and meet other people.

Grab your mates and come on down!

Think you know good beer or just want to know what beer is made from, then come to the Engineering Society State Vs State Beer tasting evening. We will be pitting small and micro-brews from around the country against each other. You might just pick up some beer brewing knowledge along the way.

Now with a after party at Cargo Bar (With complementary drink on entry)

Come join us for a 4 hour cruise of Sydney Harbour, where we settle once and for all if it's Pirates or Ninjas.

Pizza Dinner is included along with free local beer and wine.

Cruise leaves from King Street Wharf 9 (in front of Cargo Bar) at 6.30pm on the 11th April (So get there early or otherwise you swim).

Tickets on sale at the UTS Union Information Desk, Level 3 Tower Building. Tickets purchased before Friday 4th April are $45 Advantage Card holding Members, $50 Engineering Society members, $55 everyone else. After the 4th all tickets increase by $10.
